I'm a photographer, photo editor, a dork sometimes, a visionary, an entrepreneur, a Hooters hot wing eater, a horn honker, texter, karate chopper, animal liker, a wake up in the afternooner, and a pretty girl chaser... but, I have Monday's and Tuesday's off and I work my own hours.

Rivers Edge And Wet T-Shirt Contests

Rivers Edge in Tucson Az is one of the popular local dive bars and carries a mix of people throughout the week- from college crowds to old timers, this place has been around for a long time and by the looks of it you will know.  It's old, run down, dark, danky and a dive bar, so don't get all fancy with the Prada or Gucci outfits.  I say "dive bar" loosely because the big difference is that this place does host entertainment-  live music, dj mixes, karaoke, contests, beer pong, Texas Hold-em tournaments, charity fund raisers, and the ever popular ladies night on Thursday nights.  But one of their featured monthly events packs a rowdy college crowd, I'm talking about the last Tuesday of every month is their wet t-shirt contest, it happens.  Enough talkin, grab some friends and head on out to the bar nobody goes to but is seen at... ?!?!  One thing to know if you are not a local- this is a cash only place and no ATM's. That's seriously oldschool.

O'Malleys 2012 Halloween Party

Omalley's on 4th Ave. was the place for all the action, we ventured down the area to catch up with some of the students that were out and partying, the bar was packed and grooving with plenty of poppin eye candy costumes. Turns out these bartenders are more than a little camera shy, I wonder why??

Zombie Apocalypse In Downtown Tucson

And we were there to shoot a lot of Zombies! The End is near... or at least in downtown Tucson. Tucson Zombie Walk, LLC held its 7th annual event that attracted plenty of zombies, ghouls, and zombie slayers of all ages. This was a great event to get out to and have some pre- Halloween fun. While in my opinion the zombie walking route was not the greatest with all the construction and fenceing around due to construction,  I would have thought there was a better route to walk. All in all it was a great time, I didn't get the shot I wanted but I anticipate next years event.
A restaurant chain inspired by Toby Keith called "I Love This Bar and Grill" will soon reside by the Tucson Mall on General Growth Properties.  The opening of this location is anticipated for the Fall of 2012. It will be an interesting concept for the area as it will be a country theme, but let's all admit Tucsonians could use some more entertainment. Here is some information from their website to give you a better idea of what its all about.    The restaurant, with its emphasis on Southern cuisine and live entertainment from national and regional country artists, could open around Oct. 1 in the Tucson Mall, said Frank Capri, CEO of Phoenix area-based owners Boomtown Entertainment LLC.   Construction on the 20,000-square-foot space across from Cheesecake Factory has been ongoing since April, said Boomtown President Greg McClure. “We can’t wait to get opened,” Capri said. “It’s going to be a big venue, state of the art. Great food, great music. There’s going to be nothing like it in Tucson.” This will be the second Arizona location for Toby Keith’s; the first opened in Mesa in spring 2010. A third restaurant will open in Phoenix’s west valley – think University of Phoenix Stadium area – later this year, Capri said. Keith launched the restaurant a few years ago with three locations in his native Oklahoma. Since then, another dozen have opened, 11 of them owned by Boomtown. A location in Las Vegas is owned by Harrah’s Las Vegas. Toby Keith’s menu includes Southern specialties such as barbecue ribs, chicken and pork, burgers and chicken fried steak along with he-man sounding appetizers and state-fair worthy desserts. Appetizers include Toby’s Platter – a plethora of nachos, wings, mozzarella sticks, deep-fried jalapeno poppers and mac and cheese wedges, served with marinara, blue cheese and ranch dipping sauces. Dessert is highlighted by a fried Twinkie. But the menu is not what lures country music fans to Toby’s table. It’s the chance to sit at the giant guitar-shaped bar – painted red, white and blue like the American flag – and watch a rising Nashville singer perform on a stage that’s close enough to see the sweat on his/her brow. The bars host live music three or four nights a week – including every Friday and Saturday night, McClure said – with artists ranging from freshly signed Nashville newcomers to fan-favorite Texas red dirt singers. Upcoming shows at the Mesa location: Scott Weiland, former frontman for Stone Temple Pilots (who includes country as part of his repertoire as a solo artist), on Sunday; Granger Smith July 27; and Mark Wills Aug. 17.  Boomtown officials are confident the concept will fly with Tucson’s strong country music fan base, Keith has a devoted following here that filled Casino del Sol’s AVA in 2004, the last time he played a Tucson show.  “It’s a great market for us,” said Capri. “We love the town, love the people. We’re going to be there for a long time.       Features: Live Country Music and Events, Great Eats, Private Rooms for Large Parties
